With the presence of Jubbaland State officials, the @USAIDSomalia Bar ama Baro team led by @Abdullahi_Eid, we successfully concluded a school sports tournament in Kismayo. The final match between Ganane and Farjano ABE centers ended with Farjano winning the cup. The tournament, part of a series of activities, aimed to enhance youth and community cohesiveness, raise awareness on peace, education, and climate issues among other topics, and establish platforms for youth to engage with the government officials on critical issues. At a well-organized award ceremony, the cup was officially awarded to the Farjano football team. The second-ranked team also received medals, while all players were recognized with individual medals.
Talobeeg Foundation continues to collaborate with dedicated partners and the government to support young people, offering opportunities for mutual benefit, engagement with public officials, and the accumulation of critical life information. The Creational Activities, Climate Awareness Youth Events and Parent Outreach Messaging Grant is part of the USAID funded Bar ama Baro Initiative and is aimed to foster the holistic development, social inclusion, and enhanced well-being of youth and children in Alternative Basic Education (ABE) centers by establishing a sustainable framework of sports and recreational activities. The ultimate aim is to empower these individuals with the skills, confidence, and positive values necessary for leadership, citizenship, and lifelong success, thereby creating a vibrant and supportive environment that nurtures their full potential.
