With the Support of USAID Somalia, Talobeeg Foundation has successfully conducted Community Engagement Event in Kismayo

2024 at Qilmawaye Hotel. The event was officially opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Jubbaland State, Hon. Abdirashid Abdirahman Amir, and was attended by numerous dignitaries and community leaders. Among the attendees were honourable members of the State Parliament, led by Hon. Shire Abdi Mohamed Dhaqane, Chairman of the Social Affairs Subcommittee accompanied by the Hon. Hirad Ismail Mohamed.

Other notable officials included the Director of Education Service Development of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education Mr. Mukhtar Osman, Director of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, representatives from the Jubbaland Football Association, the Regional Education Officer of Lower Jubba region, the District Education Officer of Kismayo, and officials from Kismayo municipality. Additionally, representatives from the Bar ama Baro project, village leaders, school headteachers, youth association representatives, youth and student members, and other distinguished community leaders were present.

The event aimed to bring together various stakeholders to discuss and collaborate on enhancing educational and recreational opportunities for the youth. The Minister emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering community cohesion and supporting the holistic development of young people in Jubbaland. The participation of diverse community members underscored the collective commitment to the project’s goals, ensuring a broad base of support and engagement.

Through this engagement, the Talobeeg Foundation sought support of all stakeholders before directing implementing activities to create a sustainable impact and to promoting sports, education, and climate awareness among the youth, contributing to a more inclusive effort for future programming in Kismayo district.
